Before proceeding to my article on the web’s missing pages, I thought we might like to review some of the things that were changed, or even no longer exist because of the web. Much of this change is for the good, I suggest.
Erik Qualman is a commentator on the web and social matters. His site is at equalman.com and features videos, books and talks. His socialnomics videos are great viewing and are what introduced me to him initially.
This video of his shows recent everyday items that are now consigned to history.
For some of us this will be nostalgic. For others, particularly my children, this will be incomprehensible. Many have grown up in a world that always had the web and the precursors to common web facilities will need a lot of explanation.
The next article will discuss those missing web pages.
